As of yet, the committee has not been asked to exercise its power. But because of discussions during the first few months of the creation of EOS, it was deemed necessary to have a group of people who would be able to put an issue to an end if disagreements went on for too long.
As can be seen there are currently six members of the committee. It was decided that there should be seven members, therefore there is now an open seat in the committee. An election should be scheduled soon.
